Meg Seow

Meg is a staff nurse at Auckland City Hospital. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) and Advanced Health Interpreting (Japanese).

Meg has worked in radiology for over four years. Prior to this she worked in the areas of vascular and medical nursing. Her professional passion is neuro angiography, and this is where she spends most of her working time in the Radiology Department.

Meg has been involved with most of the vein of Galen cases to date. Because of this she has developed a real interest for the condition and its treatment. Meg has gained most of her in-depth knowledge about the condition through working with the interventional neuroradiologists on the vein of Galen cases. She also keeps up to date with the condition through reading medical journals and asking the interventional neuroradiologists lots of questions. Meg has visited a hospital in Australia that treats vein of Galen to gain more knowledge and experience in this area. She would love the opportunity to train specifically in this area but unfortunately there are no training courses available for nursing staff at present.

Meg is a wonderful nurse who really cares about her patients and their families. She is very special to our family as she has cared for our son during all of his embolisation procedures. It helps us to know that someone familiar and someone who really cares about us and our son will be in his operating theatre with him. Meg has attended our son’s birthday celebrations and is always there for us on the end of and e-mail or in person.
We think she is really special. Thank you Meg for all your input into this website but most importantly for everything you do for the vein of Galen families.
